SANA was established in 1989 and for many years has been a reference event for the Italian and international organic market, enabling producers, buyers, and operators in the sector to meet and network, while also promoting their products and initiatives.

Thanks to the collaboration with BolognaFiere, AssoBio, and FederBio, along with the support of ITA (Italian Trade Network) and the patronage of the Ministry of the Environment, every year SANA puts on a lavish display of exhibits subdivided into three main sectors: Food, Care & Beauty, Green Lifestyle.

This year, our Sant’Anna Organic Cheese Factory will once again be exhibiting at Hall 30 – specifically focused on Food – stand A42. We look forward to seeing you and to tasting our 24-month Parmigiano Reggiano together.

What’s new this year

“From the green revolution to the organic revolution. The present and future of organic products”, is the central theme for the 2019 edition of SANA, enriched with meetings and well-known guests.

“The États Générauxof the organic industry”, to be held on the 5 and 6 September at the Palazzo dei Congressi in Bologna, will be a prelude to the opening of SANA. The event will bring together the main actors of the Italian and international agricultural production chains, with an emphasis on strategic choices for the future of sustainable agriculture, while safeguarding the planet and natural resources.

Focus: Sana Academy

This year, the SANA Academy is again offering training workshops, with three events in which university lecturers and researchers debate with industry operators on such current themes as organic and natural products. A special focus will be devoted to food allergies, intolerances, food supplements, and the use of agri-food chain by-products for the development of new healthy, ecological, and sustainable products.

As yet another treat for our visitors, the 31st edition of SANA will feature a “plastic-free” catering service, where all plastic will be replaced with biodegradable packaging and reusable dishes.
